African should Take Hold
of their Destiny
Economic
development in most African countries since attaining independence doesn’t give
hope to Africans. Amazingly instead of moving forward new backward economic
movements emerge. The kind of economic backwardness we are trying to talk about
herein is highly experienced by majority due the blackout of some leaders.
Fortunately
this endless problem was formally raised most seriously by few African leaders
who had individually embarked on a non-capitalist path of development in their
mode of thought; and the problems were considered within the context of
inequalities and contradictions not just between Africa and western also inside
Africa that create some clashes within. That is the element of conscious
activity that signifies the ability to make history, by grappling with the
heritage of objective material conditions and social relations.
Since
it was addressed, hence its upon the Africans to turn back where they went
wrong and stop waiting for the Western countries to think on their behalf. The
idea of Dambisa Moyo of avoiding too much economic dependant got its
credibility, since she believes not only foreign aid to be given priorities
rather financing development. She argues, “Limitless development assistance to
African governments, has fostered dependency, encouraged corruption and
ultimately perpetuated poor governance and poverty”.
As
for her concern it is very true African backwardness is due to the legacy of
some irresponsible leaders that pass the idea of total dependency and easy
going life. Due to this we are currently serving the needs of western country.
Currently, the president spend most of his time in western country looking for
the so called development stakeholder to whom came to reap that had been kept
for long by the founder of this nation.
So,
it’s a high time for Africans to stop looking for financial aid rather asking
for skills and knowledge since it’s the only solution for continuously being
underdeveloped in all aspect of life while we have plenty of resources that
made the western developed. Hence the fate is when African will take hold of
their destiny by being responsible accountable and real patriots.
